NEW PARTNERSHIP: EQUAL-SALARY AND THE WOMEN IN POWER NETWORK

Apr 9, 2025

Vevey/Bern, 9 April 2025 –  The EQUAL-SALARY Foundation and the Women in Power network are announcing a partnership aimed at strengthening the principles of equal pay, equal opportunity, and fair processes between men and women in the Swiss energy sector. This collaboration aligns closely with Women in Power’s mission to increase the representation of women in Switzerland’s energy industry and to promote greater diversity across the sector.

The non-profit EQUAL-SALARY Foundation offers a certification that enables organizations to guarantee and demonstrate their commitment to equal pay. Based on a scientific methodology and a rigorous external audit, this process allows companies to prove they apply fair remuneration policies and provide equal opportunities for all. By adopting this independent and internationally recognized certification, employers not only ensure compliance with legal requirements but also stand out for their proactive commitment to fair, sustainable, and objectively-based compensation.

The Services Industriels de Genève (SIG), a member of Women in Power, was the first company in the Swiss energy sector to obtain this certification back in 2012. Since then, they have renewed it three times and are preparing for a fourth certification to reaffirm their dedication to fair pay, equal opportunity, and continuous improvement.

“This partnership between EQUAL-SALARY and Women in Power amplifies women’s voices in the energy sector to make equity the rule, not the exception. We firmly believe that equal pay and opportunity are fundamental rights, and that only by joining forces can we build a more just and inclusive sector,” says Noémie Strobeck, co-CEO of the EQUAL-SALARY Foundation.

“Women often have the legitimacy and skills required but don’t always dare to apply. We must do everything we can to encourage them, and that includes ensuring fair treatment,” comments Véronique Athané, Director of Services Industriels de Genève (SIG).

“Through Women in Power, I’m committed to raising awareness and encouraging equitable pay practices, so that women’s skills and expertise are truly valued”, says Nadia Keller, Project Manager at Women in Power.
