WEBINAR FOR UNGC- PARTICIPANTS: ADRESSING THE GENDER PAY GAP

April 24, 2019 from 3 pm until 4 pm (CET)

Apr 1, 2019

Equal pay is a recognized human right, and Target 8.5 of the Sustainable Development Goals calls for equal pay for work of equal value. However, women currently earn on average 77 percent of what men do, and — at the current rate of progress — it will take until 2086 to achieve pay equity in all parts of the world. In this Academy session, you will learn how to evaluate, understand and take action to address the gender pay gap in your company. By completing this webinar session and related learning materials, UNGC Participants will learn to:

  • Understand pay equity concepts and why gaps exist
  • Build your company’s business case for equal pay based on the latest research and drivers, including legislation, public policy and corporate trends
  • Utilize the most useful means for measurement
  • Take concrete actions to address the gender pay gap based on real-life company examples

Speakers:

  • Lauren Gula, Senior Manager, Gender Equality and Social Sustainability,
  • Emanuela Pozzan, Senior Specialist on Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination, Gender, Equality and Diversity & ILOAIDS Branch
  • Véronique Goy Veenhuys, Founder, EQUAL-SALARY FOUNDATION
  • Lauren Gula, Senior Manager, Gender Equality and Social Sustainability

Please note: This webinar is only accessible for UNGC Participants as it is organized by the UNGC Academy. This platform is designed to provide Participating companies of the UN Global Compact with the knowledge and skills they need to meet their sustainability objectives and achieve long-term growth by contributing to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
